Fuzzy logic power management for a PV/Wind microgrid with backup and storage systems

<span>This work introduces a power management scheme based on the fuzzy logic controller (FLC) to manage flows in small and local distributed generation system. The stand-alone microgrid (MG) includes wind PV generators as main sources. backup system battery storage (BSS) diesel generator (DG) combined with supercapacitor (SC). different energy sources are interconnected through DC bus. MG is modeled using MATLAB/Simulink Sim_Power System™. SC used compensate for shortage of during start-up DG limits charging/discharging current BSS. balance chief objective proposed scheme. Some performance indexes evaluated: frequency-deviation, stability bus voltage, AC voltage total harmonic distortion. planned assessed by two 24-hours simulation sets. Simulation results confirm effectiveness FLC-based management. Moreover, FLC approach compared deterministic approach. has saved 18.7% from daily load over study shows that quality signal case better than approach.</span>
